Schiller Institute Founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche

June 2016

Guangming (Enlightenment) Daily published an interview with Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche on June 26th the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, an event which has been the focus of a great deal of media attention in the country. In the interview Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche relates the tremendous changes she has seen in China since her 1971 visit to the country as a young journalist during the Cultural Revolution. She underlines in particular the importance of the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative for China, and for the world, regarding it as the type of relationship between China and Europe which Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz tried to establish during the 17th century. In this manner China, in realizing its “China Dream” of the revival of the Chinese nation, also transforms it into a “World Dream”. Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche also praises the policy of the Chinese Communist Party under President Xi Jinping in making science the basis of the “people’s welfare” and pushing the boundaries of science toward new breakthroughs, in the fields of “the structure of matter, the evolution of the universe, the origin of life, and the nature of consciousness”, as President Xi underlined. With breakthroughs in these fields, she stressed, China will define a new paradigm in thinking and a new era in human history.
