For Background material, please scroll down to the bottom of the page.

The world crisis, and how to solve it, will be the subject of a major address which Schiller Institute Founding Member, statesman economist, and U.S. Presidential pre-candidate Lyndon LaRouche will be delivering before a Washington, D.C. audience on May 1, 2002, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time (1700 Universal Coordinated Time).

The event, sponsored by LaRouche's presidential campaign, will be simultaneously webcast internationally on the candidate's website and the website of Executive Intelligence Review, www.larouchepub.com.

The ongoing Israeli invasion of the Palestinian Authority territory has brought the Middle East, and the world as a whole, to the brink of a new religious war. Such a war has been openly promoted for more than a decade by individuals like Samuel P. Huntington, Bernard Lewis, Zbigniew Brzezinski and Henry A. Kissinger, under the rubric of a "Clash of Civilizations."

The principal motive behind the drive for a new Thirty Years War is the doom of the present financial and monetary system. On behalf of this policy, portions of the Anglo-American financial oligarchy have given their support to Israel's present Sharon government, to stage an imitation of the Nazi SS crushing of the Warsaw Ghetto, against the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian population of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. These events have profound implications for the near-term survival of the Bush Administration and for the United States itself.

Lyndon LaRouche is the leading spokesman today for the American intellectual tradition. He has presented clear cut solutions to the otherwise unavoidable slide into war and global economic collapse, through his call for a bankruptcy reorganization of the present financial and monetary system, modeled on key features of the 1944-1965 successful Bretton Woods system, and a global agro-industrial recovery, centered on the Eurasian Landbridge.

Watch Mr. LaRouche in a dialogue about these burning policy issues.
