Bringing the New Silk Road to Michigan

June 17, 2017 1pm to 5pm
Dearborn Heights, Michigan

Helga Zepp-LaRouche at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, May 14-15, 2017.

Now available: transcript and video of the keynote address by Helga Zepp-LaRouche

The historic Belt and Road Forum, convened in Beijing by China's President Xi Jinping on May 14-15, brought together 19 heads of state and delegations from 130 nations, and represented a major advance in the creation of a new paradigm for mankind. Mrs. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, who participated in the Forum and who is known in China as "The New Silk Road Lady." underscored it's importance in her speech to the Forum, "it presents a new form of globalization, one not determined by the criteria of profit maximization for the financial sector, but rather the harmonious development of all participating countries on the basis of Win-Win cooperation." The U.S. sent a significant delegation to the conference. That representation, coming on the heels of the successful Trump-Xi summit in April, opens the door to full U.S. participation in this "project of the century."

Clearly, Michigan, with its history as a manufacturing hub for the Nation, and, with its already well established economic ties with China, can be the epicenter of the industrial renaissance in the U.S. which will fostered by the Belt and Road Initiative. Just as Michigan was the "Arsenal of Democracy" in World War II, so it can become the "Factory for the New Silk Road" today.

The conference will feature a special message from Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche, as well as a presentation by EIR Asia Desk editor, Mike Billington.
