Schiller Institute Conference
After Thirty Years:
The Need for the Principle of the SDI Today!

Congressman Walter Jones's Address

Sterling, Virginia
March 23, 2013

Schiller Institute Press Release:

March 25 (EIRNS)--In a short message of greetings to the March 23 Schiller Institute Conference outside Washington, D.C., U.S. Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) demonstrated a quality of leadership so rare in Washington today. In his video address, Representative Jones stressed full agreement with senior statesman Lyndon LaRouche on the issues of bank separation and the immediate enforcement of the necessary checks against President Obama's continued violations of the Constitutionally-mandated separation of powers.

After initial greetings from North Carolina, Jones recounted for the audience what he "...considered the two worst votes of my career." One of those votes, said Jones, was the vote in favor of the 1999 repeal of Glass-Steagall. It was the realization of the seriousness of that mistake, Jones told his audience, that compelled him to co-sponsor, with Ohio Democrat Marcy Kaptur, HR 129, the current House bill which would reinstate the provisions of the "Banking Act of 1933." He emphasized repeatedly that it was up to the members of that audience and their friends and family to: "Call your Congressmen to co-cponsor and support HR 129."

Jones also addressed the strategic crisis, by presenting his initiative demanding Congress declassify 28 pages of the 9/11 Commission report, which would reveal that Saudi Arabia was the author of the devastating 9/11 attacks on the United States.

Greetings to the Executive Intelligence Review and
Schiller Institute Conference in Sterling, Virginia
March 23, 2013

U.S. Representative Walter Jones, Jr.
Third District of North Carolina (R)

Congressman Jones:

U.S. Representative Walter Jones

I want to say hello first and welcome you to the Executive Intelligence Review in Sterling, Virginia, today, and sorry I can't be with you, but I am back home in North Carolina.

I want to bring up two or three issues that I hope that will be of interest to you -- to let you know that I am working with the LaRouche people on a couple of issues that I think are very important. One is -- and I would like to read a paragraph to you -- I wrote to the chairman and ranking member of the House Permanent Committee on Intelligence, and this is my second paragraph in the letter to both Mr. Rogers and also Mr Ruppersberger. "I urge you, as chairman and ranking member, to reccommend a declassification of the 28 pages of the Congressional Joint Inquiry Report describing what role the Saudi Arabian government had in the terrorist attack of 9-11. As you know, fomer Senator Bob Graham has conducted extensive research into this issue, and has been nationally recognized and interviewed for his beliefs that these 28 pages should be declassified."

I'm asking you today, as you're attending this conference, to think about reaching out to other members of Congress, and ask them to join me, in asking for this declassification. The American people will not survive unless they have sunlight and freedom as to the knowledge of what is happening in Washington. So, remember, you're very important to this cause.

Another issue that I would like to talk about, is Glass-Steagall. With all the nations around the world who are in economic chaos, and banks failing left and right, why should America not reinstate Glass-Steagall? I will tell you, that the two worst votes that I have made since I've been in Congress: One, the Iraq War, as we were misled and lied to by the Bush administration; secondly, I did vote to repeal Glass-Steagall, but I'm now on the House bill with Marcie Kaptur, to reinstate Glass-Steagall, and we need your help to reach out to other members of Congress and ask them to join Marcy Kaptur and Walter Jones to reinstate Glass-Steagall.

I will tell you that your voices -- your effort can make a difference. We in this country, here in Washington DC, we need to hear from the people of America. And these two issues that I just mentioned to you, are very important to "sunshine" in Washington, DC. And we need all the sunshine that we can get, because too often the government does try to hide from the American people-- the taxpayers -- the truth.

The truth will set you free. Help us if you can, and thank you for taking a moment to listen to me. Thank you, and have a great conference.
